Each year TAS provides financial assistance to families through a range of Scholarships and Bursaries. Academic Scholarships are based on academic merit and are assessed following the results of the scholarship examination.
Bursaries are designed to provide financial assistance to families showing genuine and demonstrable need. Financial details are required and means test conditions apply. Bursary information can be obtained by contacting the school directly.
Academic Scholarship Information for 2015
Please note that the Scholarship Examination for 2015 awards is to be held at TAS on Monday February 28th 2014
TAS Academic Scholarships are offered annually, to both boarding and day students entering Years 7, 8, 9,10 and 11.
The results of the examination are used in the decision to offer a scholarship. Other personal attributes of the student are also taken into account. An interview with the Headmaster and/or other senior staff members is also required.
Scholarships are tenable for the duration of your son’s schooling at TAS, subject to continuing satisfactory performance and behaviour.
Wentworth Memorial Scholarship
For a boarding student entering Yr 7 in 2015
Four members of the Wentworth family, two brothers in succeeding generations have been Dux of the School. The first two sons attended Oxford, the second two attended the University of Sydney here they gained honours degrees. The family has been a great supporter of the school. This memorial scholarship is awarded to s student in entering Yr 7 who shows exceptional academic ability and all round potential. Students must sit the scholarship examination. The results of the examination are used in the decision to offer a scholarship. Other personal attributes of the student are also taken into account. An interview with the Headmaster and/or other senior staff members is also required.
The Wentworth Memorial Scholarship provides up to 100% remission of fees.
Middle School Academic Scholarships
For students ( day or boarding) entering Year 6 in 2015.
These scholarships are tenable for 3 years only, that is, the duration of middle schooling. Students must sit the scholarship examination. The results of the examination are used in the decision to offer a scholarship. Other personal attributes of the student are also taken into account. An interview with the Headmaster and/or other senior staff members is also required.
Academic scholarships to The Armidale School are part-fee scholarships, ie: the maximum award offered is 50% of the tuition and/or boarding fee, which ever is applicable.
