Frequently entrepreneurs have excellent business ideas and the prudence to make a success of their business enterprises. But in many cases financial problems and lack of basic financial management skills lead to the downfall of the enterprise. This course offers basic, practical training for entrepreneurs and BEEs in the skills required for effective day-to-day financial management. The aim of the course is to equip candidates with the necessary knowledge, skills and values to practise sound basic financial management in their enterprises thereby empowering this sector of the economy and ensuring good small business governance. A national senior certificate or equivalent qualification and/or applicable experience.
ContentThe course consists of the following module:
Code Module
CBBF01W Basic business finance
Evaluation and ExaminationStudents will be assessed by means of a compulsory assignment and a formal examination to be written at an official Unisa examination centre. To pass the course a student must obtain a minimum of 50% in the examination.
CertificateOn successful completion of the course a certificate will be posted to students.

Distance education by means of study guides, prescribed book, tutorial letters and assignments.

Registration periods
The course fee is R1 500 which includes all study material, tuition and examination fees. The full fees are payable on registration. On receipt of your registration form, and the minimum amount, the prescribed study material for all the selected modules, as well as a unique student number, will be despatched to you. No additional material purchased.
