Our Chancellor is Judge Bernard Ngoepe, Judge President of the Transvaal Provincial Division of the High Court of South Africa.
The UNISA Council, which sets the strategic direction of the University, is chaired by Dr Mathews Phosa, a leading businessman and former Premier of Mpumalanga Province. The Deputy Chairperson is Ms Charlotte Nhlapo-McClain, a Human Rights Commissioner at the South African Human Rights Commission.
The President of the UNISA Convocation, representing alumni, is Professor Themba Sono, a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature.
