My client, a private hospital in Durban North / Umhlanga area, requires the services of a Payroll Officer. Please note that SAP experience is ESSENTIAL for this post. Please see below requirements:
- A Matric and extensive experience with previous payroll functionalities is essential
- Time and attendance experience would be advantageous
- Advanced computer literacy is essential
- The ability to work well under pressure and to maintain effectiveness during changing conditions
- The ability to prioritise by managing time and resources to ensure that work is completed effectively
- The ability to work effectively and co-operatively with others by establishing and maintaining good working relationships
- The ability to set high standards of performance for self and others, and assuming the overall responsibility and accountability for the successful completion of assignments or tasks
- Sound financial background and good understanding of payroll systems are preferable
- Attention to detail is essential
- Must have initiative and assertiveness
- Must have flexibility and willingness to work overtime and weekends when necessary
Key Responsibilities Include:
- The post performs a full Payroll function, and ensure accuracy of the input to the Payroll function
- The incumbent within the post is required to meet tight deadlines, to be accurate, to follow policies and procedures and to interact with members of the staff and management, external companies / agencies associated with the business of the organisation and members of the public
- Assists with all Human Resources related projects and research on an ad hoc basis as the need arises, which includes, staff initiatives, social responsibility projects, HIV projects, uniforms and performance appraisals
- Monthly statistics and reports
- Running of daily backups and month-end procedures
- Maintenance of the Time and Attendance System
- Monitor Employee Clocks and ensure timeous editing of time cards
- Maintenance of Information Systems register including software and licences
